A journey

Working with my R&W family on the panel abstract has been an experience. I have realized how hard it is to really connect our research areas: mathematics and animal science for interdisciplinary research; the challenge being that each one of us has to try to explain our area to a certain degree and that can be frustrating. I do commend my group members Alonzo and Joseph because I think they have taken the time to try to understand somethings even they started there intensive math program.

We were able to start a google doc and from there I found it easy to bring everybody's ideas together for a successfully abstract. Our abstract is about comparing and contrasting the different types of housing for swine specifically in industry. It's importance affects the views of welfare in the animal production field and looking at the impact for the future with different aspects.

Sincerely,
Kendra

  1. I agree with you Kendra, Joseph and Alonza have definitely being opened about our field. Hopefully, as we continue on doing our research we will get a better understanding of what we each are doing.

  2. Great job getting together and working out the differences between your fields. This assignment is turning out some very interesting project topics that I would never have imagined to see coming from one particular field by itself.

  3. Hello Kendra,

It sounds like the process has been somewhat challenging given the different fields. However, it is good to know that everyone in the group is doing the best effort to understand more about each other's field of study.
It seems that even though it is a challenging process, your end product is going to be outstanding. I look forward to hear more about it!
